Plainfield's annual Hometown Irish Parade will take place on Sunday, March 16th along with two St. Baldrick's events. Knights of Columbus, Holy Spirit Council 15037 is hosting two events at two separate locations:
- From 11 am to 3 pm at the old Plainfield fire station, 15025 S. DesPlaines Street along with the Village Preservation Association's Hometown Irish Parade
- From 3 pm to 6 pm at Nevin's Brewing Company 12337 S Route 59
So far, 150 people have signed up to have their heads shaved in support of children's cancer research. Last year alone, the St. Baldrick's fundraiser at the old fire station raised more than $43,000 with help from 140 shavees.
